A heartbreaking incident occurred in Tirupati on Wednesday night, where six people lost their lives in a stampede at a token issuance center· Another 48 people were injured and are now being treated at Ruia and SWIMS hospitals· The stampede happened during the distribution of darshan tokens for the Vaikuntha Ekadashi event at Tirumala Srivari Temple·

In response, the government has announced a compensation of ₹25 lakh for the families of the deceased· A case has also been registered to investigate the incident·

To ensure safety during Vaikuntha Ekadashi, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has made extensive arrangements· The temple and surrounding areas have been beautifully decorated with flowers and lights· Devotees are advised to wear masks due to the spread of HMPV disease and only those with tokens will be allowed for darshan·
