The plot of Mei is A missing case is solved by an NRI surgeon and a medical representative. When they go deeper, they discover the dark side of the organ trafficking.

A woman waits for Uber at a bus stop. Her cab driver abandons her, forcing her to board an auto rickshaw.  She gets kidnapped, triggering the events in Mei. The next morning, an NRI medical physician named Abhinav Chandran (played by Nicky Sundaram in his debut) arrives in Chennai to deal with the loss of a loved one. On his way home from the airport, he meets across Uthra (Aishwarya Rajesh) caring to a diabetic patient on the side of the road. The pair transports him to a local hospital.
